Art seekers have enriched Indian culture: MP Minister Thakur

Culture, Tourism and Religious Trust and Endowments Minister Usha Thakur has said that art seekers have enriched Indian culture. Minister Sushri Thakur was addressing the conclusion of the 20-day “Stone Crafting National Camp” and the exhibition of crafts organized by the Department of Culture at Nilambari Maidan located in Rabindra Bhawan Complex. 

Minister Thakur said artists have made the highest contribution to Indian culture since ancient times. He visited the craft exhibition and also bowed down to the art of the craftsmen for their immense faith towards the culture. 

Director Culture Aditi Kumar Tripathi, Deputy Director Culture Vandana Pandey, Assistant Director Culture Vandana Jain, Craftsman and Camp Coordinator Anil Kumar and Senior Craftsman Robin David were present at the closing ceremony.

Minister Usha Thakur felicitated 16 renowned artisans who had come from all over the country to participate in the national camp by presenting them with shawls and quinces. 

In the camp, Bhupesh Kavadia-Udaipur, Chitra E. Gopi-Ernakulam, Dr.B. Rakesh-Bengaluru, Jaya Vivek-Bhopal, Karunamurthy-Chennai, Neeraj Ahirwar-Bhopal, Vishal Bhatnagar-Chandigarh, Pankaj Gehlot-Pali (Rajasthan), Tserig Gurmet Kungayam-Leh, Tutu Patnaik-New Delhi, Rajasekhar Nair-Trivandrum, Srinivasa Reddy -Hyderabad, Renu Bala-Pathankot, Rabin David-Bhopal, M.K. Vanjari-Mumbai and Anil Kumar-Bhopal Artisans/Coordinators joined. A large number of art-lovers attended and praised the finished crafts.
