In a heartwarming initiative aimed at providing accessible healthcare, a free AYUSH medical camp was held at village Sheikhpura on the outskirts of the state capital on Friday.
Jointly organised by the city-based Xavier Welfare Society and divisional officer Dr SP Verma, the camp was conducted on the occasion of the grand conclusion of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Mahotsav.
The event saw the participation of a skilled team of doctors, including Dr Shashank Jha, Dr Vineet Verma, Dr Nitin Varathi, Dr Dinesh Goud, and Dr Rashmi Tripathi, who provided consultations to a total of 239 patients. Free medicines were also provided at the camp.
The camp featured a special health screening campaign, where 78 individuals were tested for blood sugar levels, and 92 people had their blood pressure monitored. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about common health conditions and ensure that the villagers had access to timely medical attention.
The success of the camp was attributed to the local administration and health department personnel, including Durga Singh, Narayan Das Verma, Sandeep Jain, Vinita Pandey, Aishwarya James, Mohit Gupta, Manish Pawse, and dedicated staff nurses.
The camp also received strong support from Deputy Sarpanch Babita Mahal Lavana and the local community, whose active involvement made the event a great success.
Basant Meena, a spokesperson for the Xavier Welfare Society, expressed the organisation’s commitment to future health camps, noting, “We are dedicated to organising more such events to ensure that the benefits of AYUSH, including Ayurvedic, Unani, and Homeopathic treatments, reach the masses.”
The camp provided immediate relief to those in need and also highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, making it a vital step toward building a healthier community.
