Baghel govt to conduct Abujhmad’s revenue survey
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday in his monthly radio talk programme that for the first time the state government has decided to conduct revenue survey of Abujhmad.
Rs Rs State Government would ensure development of all kinds of facilities in Abujhmad including road, electricity, water-supply, water, hospital and education,’’ Baghel claimed in his 25-minute radio talk programme which has become highly popular in the state.
Presently, nearly 250km long roads en route Narayanpur-Orchha, Narayanpur-Dhaudai-Kanhar-Barsur, Narayanpur-Sonpur-Kongu are under-construction at the cost of Rs 300 crore. Besides, more than a dozen roads are also being constructed at the cost of Rs 150 crores, which would make it easier to reach Orchha-Gudadu-Kodoli-Garpa-Akabeda-Kihkad and other places.
Moreover, other construction works such as community health centres, girls’ hostel, school building etc worth Rs 20 crores are also in progress.
50K women to get engaged in forest produce
Chief Minister Baghel said that his government has expanded the scope of procuring small forest produce at support price.
Rs Rs Earlier only seven forest produce were procured at support price, whereas at present our government procures 15 small forest produces. Besides, additional bonus is also being provided against procurement of three small forest produces,’’ Baghel stated in his monthly radio talk.
He further said that it is interesting to know that forest produce business in Chhattisgarh is of nearly 1800 crores, and tribal communities have not had the opportunity of participation they deserve. Now the state government has taken several steps to increase income of tribal people and empower them.
He revealed that more than 50,000 women of self-help groups will be engaged in the trade of forest produce. Rs Rs Herbal medicine experts have not received their due acknowledgement despite the effectiveness to cure. We organised a meet of 1200 traditional ‘vaidya’ to preserve their knowledge and skill. More such steps would be taken in near future,’’ the chief minister announced.
Baghel said that nearly one-third population of the state belongs to Scheduled Tribe.
Rs Rs Tribal people have given a distinct identity to Chhattisgarh with their traditions, their cultures and their contribution. Tribal people celebrate their life and do not hesitate to aim greater. This is why topic of today’s episode ‘Tribal Development-Our Hope’ is extremely important,’’ Baghel opined.
He said that his government has increased wage for tendupatta collection from Rs 2500 per standard sack to Rs 4000 per standard sack, so that their income can be directly and immediately increased.
Rs Rs I am extremely happy to inform that in year 2019, nearly 15 lakh standard sacks have been collected, against which nearly Rs 602 crore has been paid as wages, which is Rs 226 crore more than previous years’’ he announced.
Govt to conserve water bodies
Talking about ‘Narva, Garua, Ghurva, Bari’ Mega Campaign in his radio talk, Baghel said, Rs Rs we are determined to save all the water-reservoirs under Narva Yojana’’.
He added Rs Rs every measure is being taken to do groundwater recharging and rainwater harvesting. To preserve lifeline of Bastar- River Indravati, an authority has been constituted’’.
He informed that six lakh saplings are being planted in 462 hectare area on the banks of Rivers Indravati, Kharun and Arpa. Action plan for construction of Ravan Sindhi anicut worth Rs 2.75 crore at Balka river has also been prepared.
Chief Minister said that the first decision State Government took soon after formation is to return their land to tribal people of Lohandiguda.
Rs Rs Non-tribals are not being allowed to purchase lands in Scheduled Areas. Initiatives have been taken to do justice in such cases of land transactions and to return the land to tribal land-owners. Important steps are being taken to protect the cultural, financial and social rights of the tribal communities in Scheduled Areas. Community forestland rights certificates of 9222 acres of land in nine villages of Kondagaon district, ‘patta’ of nearly 12 thousand acres of land in Jabarragaon of Nargi block in Dhamtari district have been distributed. Individual claims under Forest Land Rights Act are being reconsidered. The mandate of education qualification of upto 5th and 8th standard for candidates of Panchayat Representative election has been dissolved’’.
Caste Certificate Issuance Process made Simple
Baghel claimed that high-level committee has been constituted for effective implementation of PESA Act in Scheduled Areas.
Rs Rs Process of Caste Certificate Issuance has also been simplified. Now caste certificate of infants will be issued based on the caste of the father’’ he informed.
He added that Justice Patnayak Commission is working on bringing justice to the innocent people framed in false cases. Judicial Probe Commission in Sarkeguda has submitted the report, based on which action will be taken against the culprits. MLAs have been appointed as Chairmen and Vice-Chairman of Bastar, Sarguja Tribal Development Authorities.
National Tribal Dance Festival on December 27, 28 and 29
Chief Minister said that with a purpose to glorify the name of tribal folk arts, National Tribal Dance Festival is being organised in Raipur on December 27, 28 and 29. He said that state government is proud to be associated with tribal culture and their contribution in preserving natural resources.
