Bear Mauls Four to Death in MP Forest

Bhopal  —  Four people, including three brothers, were mauled to death by a bear in the Sansra forest range of Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh, informed officials on Thursday.

The incident took place Wednesday evening while the four – identified as Premlal, Shyamlal, Rajole and Lakhpati – were on a fishing trip.

“It appears that the bear that attacked and killed people had strayed in the town area from the nearby forest,” Sidhi forest divisional officer R.B. Sharma was quoted as saying.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem and a hunt has been launched for the bear, he added.
