Beti Bachao Abhibhiyan will be implemented in the entire state

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched Beti Bachao Abhiyan in the entire state. New Year 2012 has begun with a new initiative in tribal predominant district Barwani.

The initiative has been taken by the district administration by signing an MoU with Messrs Olam Agro India Ltd. Under the scheme, 1150 girl students of class IX to XII residing in 57 girls hostels in the district will get free sanitary napkins for one year with the cooperation of the sugar mill situated at Ghatwa village in Thikri tehsil.

District Collector Renu Tiwari said that daughters’ present and future depend on sound health and cleanliness plays an important role in it. Keeping in view this fact, sanitary napkins were provided to 240 girl students residing in five hostels on the premises of Excellence School hostel complex at Barwani the other day.

So far free of cost provision kits were provided to the girl students living in the Ashrams and hostels run by Tribal Welfare Department in the district, but these kits did not include sanitary napkin. Now, with this initiative taken by the district administration, each tribal girl student will be able to save Rs. 30 to Rs. 60 per month.
