Issuing fresh guidelines for Durga Puja and Garba events, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh ordered organizers to check the identification cards of all those visiting their venues.
The District Magistrate told organizers to not give entry to visitors without checking their identity cards.
The samitis were also told to install CCTV cameras at their venues and ensure that fire safety guidelines are adhered to.
Singh further directed organizers to make arrangements for first-aid kits at their respective venues.
The organizing committee shall ensure that no suspicious or objectionable items, including sharp-edged weapons, are brought or displayed at their venues, said the top district bureaucrat in the directives.
In view of repeated incidents of short circuits, the Collector said that the organizers must follow all safety norms communicated to them by the power distribution company and have with them the safety certificate issued by the electricity provider.
Singh said that violation of these directives could lead to legal proceedings against the organizers.
