Bhopal MP Alok Sharma “Will not let development happen by cutting trees; Will not pass such proposals”

There was a plan to build bungalows for ministers and MLAs by cutting 29 thousand trees in Tulsinagar and Shivaji Nagar of Bhopal. It may have been cancelled after the protest of the general public, but MP Alok Sharma has warned the officers on this issue. On Saturday, he said that development will not be allowed by cutting trees. Will not pass such proposals. If even a single tree is cut, there will be no mercy.

On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, Bhopal MP Sharma also planted trees in the Cancer Hospital Ground at Idgah Hills with his mother Vidya Sharma. Student Sanjana Melwani, who got Indian citizenship, also planted trees with her family. People of all classes were present during this time. The MP also took a pledge of ‘Green Bhopal Clean Bhopal’.

I will gift a sapling to the officers for their good sense.

In the program, MP Sharma said that if even a single tree is cut in Bhopal without taking the public representatives into confidence, then there will be no mercy. Now the son of Bhopal is with you. If any action plan is made without taking the public representatives into confidence, then such officers will not be spared. This is my advice as well as a warning. I will gift a sapling to the officers who had made the proposal to cut 29 thousand trees to give them good sense. So that, in future, such harmful plans are not made. Which will spoil the image of the government.

There was a big protest in Tulsi Nagar and Shivaji Nagar against the proposal to cut trees. After this, the government cancelled the plan.

This was the case of cutting trees

The case of cutting thousands of trees in Tulsi Nagar and Shivaji Nagar of Bhopal has been in the headlines this month. Congress also came out on this issue. At the same time, common people protested by sticking to the trees. The government has a plan to build bungalows for ministers, MLAs and officers at this place.

After the protest, on June 12, Urban Administration and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya cancelled this plan. He gave information about this on social media X. It was written that the proposal has been rejected in view of environmental protection and existing trees in the area of the new Bhopal re-densification plan. Along with this, instructions have been given to test other alternative places.

After this, the Housing Board also issued orders to cancel the proposal.
