The action follows stringent directives from Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan

Bhopal
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) took strict action on Thursday in its ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness and remove encroachments. A resident was fined Rs 6,000 for dumping medical waste in the open, while illegal structures and stalls were cleared from various parts of the city.
During an inspection near Kaliyasot Dam in Kolar Zone 18, municipal staff discovered medical waste dumped in the open. Upon searching through the waste, they found identification documents leading them to Deepak Thakur, a resident of Sarvadharm Colony. He was immediately fined Rs 6,000 and warned against future violations. Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan has directed officials to monitor sanitation standards across all zones and take strict action against offenders.
Meanwhile, BMC’s anti-encroachment squad carried out a large-scale operation across multiple areas, including Bagmugaliya, Jatkhedi, Lalghati, ISBT, MP Nagar, Bittan Market, Nehru Nagar, and Arera Hills. Illegal stalls, temporary structures, carts, sheds, and unauthorised kiosks were removed, and various items such as weighing machines, folding tables, crates, lights, and auto-rickshaws were seized. The operation covered busy streets, markets, and corridors to clear public spaces and ensure smooth movement for pedestrians and vehicles.
The municipal corporation has urged residents and businesses to follow regulations and avoid encroaching on public spaces. Strict penalties will continue for those violating cleanliness and urban planning rules.
