Case Registered against 7 in Cong MLA Murder
In connection with the murder of Congress MLA Makhan Lal Jatav, Madhya Pradesh police on Friday registered a case against seven persons, says a top police official.
Abhay Singh, Superintendent of Police Bhind, said that two accused – Narayan Sharma and Shera Kaurav – were detained on Tuesday while others are still absconding. Police has launched a manhunt to nab the accused, the SP added.
According to him, the other five accused are Narayan’s father Pappu alias Mewaram Sharma, Ramroop Gurjar, Ghandarv Kaurav, Sheti Kaurav and Kedar Kaurav.
Singh informed that Shera was booked under Section 25 and 27 of Arms Act while six others were charged for murder.
It should be mentioned that unidentified assailants shot dead Jatav on April 13 when he was coming after addressing an election meeting at village Cheheta.
Police sources inform that in view of the MLA’s killing, some other political leaders in the dacoit-affected Chambal range have sought additional security cover.
