CG to Unveil New Industrial Policy Soon

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh held consultations with the state’s major investors in Raipur Monday to give the final touches to the government’s new industrial policy.

Industry department officials said the government would several sops would be provided to business houses for setting-up industries in the state’s poverty-hit areas.

“The meeting with investors was held to know their views and also brief them on what the government wants,” an industry department official quoted as saying.

“The government is focused on promoting industries that will create maximum job opportunities for the vast local impoverished population,” he added.

Since its formation in November 2000, Chhattisgarh had released its maiden industrial policy in 2004 for a period of five years.
