Chouhan Declines to Comment on Notice to DAVV-VC on Rahul’s Programme
A day after a show cause notice was issued to the Vice Chancellor of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) in Indore regarding AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s ‘political’ programme, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has declined to comment on the development, reported PTI.
“I will not comment on the issue. The concerned ministry must have made some enquiry with the university,” he was quoted as saying.
He made the statement in response to a question asked by the media as to why the step was taken.
In the notice served yesterday on VC of the varsity, the state Higher Education Department asked the university administration why permission was granted for holding a political programme without bringing the matter to the knowledge of state government.
Rahul had interacted with the students of the DAVV in the university auditorium with an objective to encourage youths to join politics on January 19.
