CM in neeti aayog, Need to decrease the cost of cultivation

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today gave a presentation on roadmap of doubling of farmers’ income in five years at the third meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Ayog held today at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and was attended by the Chief Ministers of almost all the states.

The NITI Ayog meeting was held mainly to prepare a “Vision Document of India-2022” on the occasion of India’s 75 years of independence. India will complete its 75 years of independence in the year 2022. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave detailed information on the strategy of how to double the income of farmers in five years through his presentation. Shri Chouhan gave information on areas like irrigation, technology generation and dissemination, policy and market reforms, e-NAM, Livestock productivity etc.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there was need to decrease the cost of cultivation. Also there was need to increase productivity and production, diversification of agriculture and better sale price for agri-produce. He said that improved disaster management should play a role in agriculture sector and farmers should be provided timely relief and compensation in case of loss of crop etc. Chief Ministers of other states also discussed on the presentation given by Chief Minister Shri Chouhan.
