CM invited both private and public partnership in Food Parks

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed to put up a study report on private-public participation in the development of Food Parks within a month. Chouhan was reviewing the activities of Horticulture, Food Processing and Biodiversity Departments at the Mantralaya here on Tuesday.

Food Parks are being developed at Nimrani (Khargone), Babai (Hoshangabad)_ and Maneti (Mandla). A Food Park is also proposed to be set up at village Kheri (Jabalpur).

Chouhan instructed to chalk out an action plan for expansion of horticulture area and make horticulture popular among small and medium farmers. The meeting was informed that the policy for Horticulture Hub has been chalked out. It will be put forth before the cabinet for endorsement. Exhibitions of fruits and flowers will be held in every district. Besides fruit-producing farmers, the companies developing seeds will also take part in the exhibitions.

He also instructed to take farmers on study tours with a view to providing them information about scientific production of horticulture crops. The meeting was informed that the process is going on for establishment of 10 cold storages for preserving horticulture crops. State-Level Quality Controllers have been appointed to ensure quality in the expansion of areas of vegetables and spices under National Irrigation Mission. A Market Intelligence System has been evolved for providing information about current market rates to farmers.
