CM Shri Chouhan launches special campaign for PM Insurance Schemes
Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched a special campaign from his official residence here today to cover all eligible citizens under Prime Minister’s Suraksha, Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti and Atal Pension schemes.
The Chief Minister presented his staff members and their families certificates of insurance under these schemes. It is probably the first occasion when Chief Minister of a state has taken such an initiative ensuring coverage of his staff under ambitious national schemes.
In his address on the occasion, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the citizens of Madhya Pradesh. Describing these schemes as transformational, he said that these will bring needy families under social safety net. He said that social security schemes with such a dynamic vision were never designed earlier. All eligible persons would be covered under these benevolent schemes, he added.
Referring to the outstanding performance of Madhya Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, he said that with enthusiastic cooperation from people and banking institutions, Madhya Pradesh will retain first position in implementation of these schemes, too.
Shri Chouhan urged all able citizens to ensure that no one is left uncovered. He asked them to keep informing family members, relatives, friends and bring them under the social safety net. This is national duty, he added.
The Chief Minister and his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh Chouhan filled insurance forms to get insurance cover. He informed that the state-wide campaign to enrol eligible citizens is starting from May 20 in which every district will organize at least 30 to 40 special camps.
It is notable to mention here that in last ten days nearly 32 lakh registrations have been done.
Secretary to the CM and Commissioner Institutional Finance Shri Vivek Agrawal in his welcome address elaborated about the salient features of these insurance schemes. He said that implementation of these schemes will also ensure that financial inclusion goes on hand in hand.
Chief General Manager of State Bank of India Shri Riten Ghosh appreciated the performance of Madhya Pradesh in respect of its economic development and more particularly agricultural sector saying that Shri Chouhan’s passion will help Madhya Pradesh retain top position in the country.
Member of Parliament Shri Alok Sanjar, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, General Managers of State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Central Bank of India, Apex bank, Union Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Punjab National Bank, H.D.F.C. Bank were present including senior officers of New India Insurance, Life Insurance Corporation and Directorate of Institutional Finance.
