CMO of Bhikangaon suspended immediately for violation of model code of conduct

Bhopal: Khargone collector and district election officer Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari has suspended with immediate effect in-charge CMO of Bhikangaon Nagar Palika Parishad Shri Kishore Gurjar for violation of model code of conduct. The collector has taken this action on the report presented by SDO (Revenue) and assistant returning officer.

The assistant returning officer had sent a report to district election officer that a resolution was adopted at Bhikangaon Nagar Palika Parishad on March 4 to lay a 4-inch pipeline upto the sumpwell under overhead tank from Amankheri well situated near Lakhapur Talab. Rates for digging for pipeline were called on March 8, 2014. Later, the work was started by sanctioning minimum rates.

This act of Shri Gurjar has been considered as violation of model code of conduct in force in the state for Lok Sabha elections. This act is ultra vires to Rule-3 of Public Service (Conduct) Rules 1965. During suspension, Shri Gurjar’s headquarters will be office of the Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency, Khargone. Charge of CMO has been handed over the Tahsildar, Bhikangaon.
