Complete e-KYC on UPAY app, power distributor tells consumers

To avail the benefits of state government welfare schemes, it is mandatory for electricity consumers to complete e-KYC. Consumers can now complete their e-KYC through the Upay app of the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MKVVCL).
Consumers can download the app from the Google Play Store, enter their consumer and Samagra numbers, then complete the process by entering the OTP sent to their linked mobile number.
So far, 530,049 consumers have successfully completed the KYC process.

MKVVCL has launched the “Know Your Consumer” (KYC) process to update the personal details of electricity consumers in its jurisdiction of 16 districts across the Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions.
The process of updating consumer information such as Samagra ID, mobile number, and bank account details. ensures that consumers receive the benefits of state government schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and increases system transparency.
Additionally, it allows for physical verification of electricity connections and load status, which helps in planning infrastructure expansion. The process also ensures the accurate tagging of consumers’ identities and mobile numbers for the smooth operation of the company’s services.
