Concrete steps needed to contain Delta variant: BJP

Chhattisgarh BJP chief Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday asked the state government to take concrete steps to contain the Delta variant of Covid-19.

Expressing concern over detection of the variant in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, the BJP leader said the situation could take alarming proportions if timely intervention is not done in Chhattisgarh.

Only sounding alert is not enough, rather ramping up the battle against it is needed, he said.

If timely action is not taken and the situation worsens, the Baghel government will solely be responsible, Sai added.
