Cong MLA Carrying Cartridges Arrested at Raja Bhoj Airport

For allegedly carrying 10 live cartridges in a bag, a Congress MLA from Chhattisgarh, TS Singhdeo, was on Wednesday arrested at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal.

Jaideep Prasad, Bhopal Superintendent of Police, said that Singhdeo was arrested with the cartridges and booked under relevant sections of Arms Act.

Ambikapur MLA Singhdeo who was to board a Jet Airways flight to Raipur was found carrying 10 cartridges of .270 rifle during a security check, said Prasad.

According to reports, the cartridges belonged to one MLA’s relatives.

After finding the ammunition in Singhdeo’s bag during screening, CISF informed Gandhi Nagar Police, said Station House Officer Anurag Pandey.

The Congress MLA has been arrested under Sections 25 and 30 of Arms Act, police said.
