Congress complains to Lokayukta of Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, Vivek Tankha made serious allegations

The Congress has complained to the Lokayukta against Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains.

Today, Rajya Sabha members Digvijay Singh, Vivek Tankha, Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh, former Union Minister Arun Yadav and former Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly NP Prajapati met Lokayukta NK Gupta and filed a complaint against the Chief Secretary.

After this, Vivek Tankha held a press conference where along with CS Iqbal Singh Bains, the Chief Executive Officer of the Livelihood Mission, Lalit Mohan Belwal also made many allegations. Citing the report of the Madhya Pradesh Accounting General (AG), he cited a scam of 500 crores.

Vivek Tankha said that despite the AG’s report, Lalit Mohan Belwal was questioned about continuing as CEO and said that despite so many scams, he is being given extension continuously and he has the protection of the Chief Secretary.

Describing it as a sad episode for Madhya Pradesh, he said that the Congress tried to raise this issue several times in the Vidhan Sabha, but was not allowed to raise it.

Demanding an inquiry into the matter, Vivek Tankha asked why these matters are not being investigated by an independent agency.

He said that we have given our complaint to the Lokayukta and we have full hope that action will be taken on this matter at the earliest. All we want is an impartial inquiry into it and said that action should be taken on the matter at the earliest to provide justice to the people of Madhya Pradesh.

The Congress is constantly protesting against Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and raising questions on his functioning. Earlier, Dr. Govind Singh has also written a letter to the Election Commissioner demanding his removal.

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition Dr. Govind Singh said that he had adjourned the assembly regarding this, drew attention but he was not allowed to speak. Whenever the government was found to be involved in corruption in the Vidhansabha, they did not take action and were dictatorial. Along with this, he alleged that all these corruption in Madhya Pradesh have the patronage of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
