Congress made Ashok Singh the Rajya Sabha candidate in MP: Names of Dr. Murugan, Umesh Nath, Maya Narolia and Bansilal from BJP announced. Congress has made Ashok Singh the candidate for the elections to be held on 5 Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh on February 27. . Earlier on Wednesday morning, BJP announced the names of 4 candidates. These include Union Ministers L Murugan, Umesh Nath Maharaj, Maya Narolia and Bansilal Gurjar.

It seems  certain that the BJP candidate will be elected on 4 seats and the Congress candidate on one seat.

Ashok Singh is a resident of Gwalior. He is the treasurer of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee. Has contested Lok Sabha elections twice from Gwalior. Ashok Singh belongs to Yadav community. He is considered a big businessman.

When Ashok Singh’s name was announced as Rajya Sabha candidate, he was in the Congress office. There has been an influx of people congratulating him. He was seen talking on two phones simultaneously.

Meenakshi Natarajan’s name was also discussed for Rajya Sabha candidate since this morning. If sources are to be believed, MP Congress leaders did not agree on the name of Meenakshi and after a long struggle, consensus was reached on the name of Ashok Singh.

Earlier on Wednesday, BJP announced 5 names. These include four names from Madhya Pradesh and one from Odisha. Union Minister L Murugan has been made the candidate from Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has been made a candidate from Odisha. The other three names from Madhya Pradesh include Umesh Nath Maharaj, Maya Narolia and Bansilal Gurjar.

The names of current members Dharmendra Pradhan, Ajay Pratap Singh and Kailash Soni are not in the list. Out of these 5 seats of MP, 4 are held by BJP and one seat is held by Congress.8

Tomorrow i.e. 15th February is the last date for filing nominations.

Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla said on the delayed announcement of the Congress candidate, ‘Congress is in a big dilemma. There seems to be a lack of mutual coordination, that is why candidates are not able to declare. PWD Minister Rakesh Singh said, ‘Congress is troubled by the stampede. He feels that the Rajya Sabha announcement should not once again become a major cause of stampede, in which he may have to lose some of his big people. Perhaps Congress will think this way.

Regarding declaring Rajya Sabha candidate, Deputy Leader of Opposition Hemant Katare had said, ‘We are not followers of BJP. The Election Commission has fixed a date. We will declare the candidates accordingly. Our party works as per its own.

As soon as she was declared the Rajya Sabha candidate, people came to Maya Narolia’s house to congratulate her.

Maya Narolia, a resident of Narmadapuram, said, ‘The cook did not come today. I was making food  in the kitchen. The son came running. Said- Your name is among the Rajya Sabha candidates from Madhya Pradesh. After this, calls came from the state office and workers.

BJP candidate for Rajya Sabha, Sant Umeshnath Ji Maharaj has said that he does not even know its ABCD. During the morning puja, some people came to congratulate him, then came to know that his name had been declared for Rajya Sabha. Talking to Dainik Bhaskar, he said, ‘The dignity of the post should remain intact, I will continue to work like this for social harmony and religion.’

The name going to Rajya Sabha from the only seat falling in Congress’s share will be decided from Delhi. A meeting has also been held in Delhi a day before to decide the name. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, former CM Kamal Nath hosted a banquet for the MLAs, in which all the MLAs were present.

During this time, the blank nomination forms of the proposers of the candidate to be sent to Rajya Sabha have been signed. Earlier, when Kamal Nath was asked about his joining Rajya Sabha, he had clearly refused and said that he had not even thought about it. Most of the MLAs who attended the dinner said that the decision regarding who will go to Rajya Sabha will be taken by the party high command in Delhi.

MP Congress Committee had demanded to send Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, but now it has become clear about Sonia that she will go to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. In such a situation, some other leader will be made the candidate on the only seat held by Congress in Madhya Pradesh. From the Congress side, the name of former CM Kamal Nath is at the forefront for Rajya Sabha. Although he has said that he has not thought about it yet.

If Kamal Nath is not made Rajya Sabha candidate from Congress, then any OBC face willAnyone among Titu Patwari, Arun Yadav, Kamleshwar Patel can be made a candidate. Apart from this, name of organization in-charge Rajeev Singh is also doing the rounds.
