Congress to ‘Gherao’ MP Assembly Today
Bhopal — Protesting against what it alleges to be a failure of the state government to provide land rights and other facilities to tribals and forest dwellers under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, the main opposition Congress on Thursday said it will ‘gherao’ the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Friday.
Speaking to newsmen party state unit chief Suresh Pachouri said the Congress will ‘gherao’ the Assembly in protest of the government’s failure to provide land rights to a large number of forest dwellers.
Pachouri further alleged that the state government had failed to utilize funds allotted for the establishment of schools, hospitals and roads in tribal areas.
The former Union Minister also alleged that serious discrepancies took place in the farm loan waiver scheme announced by the Central government.
