Continuous flow of water in Kshipra my dream : CM

Bhopal:Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan took the resolve of ensuring completion of Narmada-Kshipra-Simhastha Link Project before Simhastha by pouring Narmada water into Sisliya reservoir today. Shri Chouhan performed formal kalash poojan of the project at village Sisliya in Barwah tahsil of Khargone district. He also made aerial survey of the project. Before embarking on the aerial survey, the Chief Minister said that this is his most ambitious project.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that seeing Kshipra River flow continuously is his dream which will be fulfilled through this project. Shri Chouhan also performed kalash poojan at Narmada-Kshipra confluence point at Ujjaini.

Under this first and unique project to link rivers for continuous flow of water, Narmada water from Omkareshwar Project canal will be released into Sisliya tank in Khargone district. From here, five million cubic meter water will be released to village Ujjaini in Indore district. From there, Narmada water will be taken 50 kilometers away upto originating point of Kshipra River through a water channel called Jeejalvanti, from where work to revive Kshipra River will commence. The project will redress drinking water problems of Dewas and Ujjain districts. Lakhs of devotees will also have pleasure of holy dip in flowing water of Kshipra River during Simhastha.

This project of Madhya Pradesh will prove to be especially beneficial to Malwa region. Long-standing drinking water problem of Dewas city will also be redressed. According to Shri Chouhan, drinking water will be made available to abut 70 cities and three thousand villages by flowing Narmada water in other rivers also.
