Cooperation of National Literacy Mission in voter literacy activities
Bhopal: Apart from government organisations, assistance of voluntary organisations is also being sought for increasing polling percentage during Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. Election Commission has entered into an MoU in this regard with National Literacy Mission.
The Mission’s staff is informing urban as well as rural voters, specially weaker and deprived sections’ women, ST, ST and minorities’ voters about importance of casting vote to strengthen democracy. Jan-Shikshaks are also paying special attention to get included cent percent names of voters in electoral rolls in their respective areas. The commission has praised these efforts of the Literacy Mission.
The commission has urged the Literacy Mission to further intensify its activities during the Lok Sabha elections.
