Cops Bust Eight Bookies in Gwalior

Bhopal:  Gwalior police on Sunday arrested eight people for allegedly taking bets on the Ashes 2009 decider between England and Australia, England won the test by 197 runs later in the day.

Moving on specific information, the police raided a residential building and took the bookies into custody.

“We have arrested eight people in this connection and recovered six laptops, three computers, 27 cell phones, two fax machines and four mobile telephone sets from their possession,” Murar Police Station chief was quoted as saying by ANI news agency.

The police have registered a case under the Gambling Act and further investigations are on.
