Environment can be saved only through mass awareness: CM

Bhopal: To mark world-wide campaign to save Earth, use of electricity appliances was stopped at Chief Minister’s residence for one hour from 8.30 to 9.30 pm today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that “Earth Hour” is an hour of resolve. All should consider it their responsibility to become partners in the efforts for preventing temperature on Earth from rising and its ill effects. He said that Earth is passing through grave crisis these days. Increasing carbon emission is posing grave danger to Earth. In our country, Earth is worshipped as mother. It is due to existence of Earth that all including animals, plants and human beings are safe.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is necessary to control carbon emission for ensuring Earth’s long life. Every citizen’s cooperation is necessary in this. He said that sensitiveness in humanitarian behaviour towards Earth will have to be increased.
Urging common people to link up with this initiative, Shri Chouhan said that environmental protection is possible only through united efforts and mass awareness. He said that consumption of energy with sensitiveness is itself a big saving of energy. He appealed to people to further increase emotional attachment with Earth. Energy should be saved for more time than one hour. These days, techniques are available for decreasing power consumption.
