Every possible assistance to poor and weaker sections: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government is making every possible effort for development of poor and weaker sections. SC, ST persons will not be dispossessed of old possessions. Compensation against crop loss will be given to cultivators who do farming by taking land on lease. The Chief Minister was addressing a delegation of Dalit Mahasabha here today.

The Chief Minister said that pattas of land have been given to poor forest dwellers under Right to Forests Act. Beneficiaries belonging to SCs and STs are being provided wheat, rice and salt at the rate of Re. one per kg. Assistance for coaching is being extended to talented students belonging to SCs and STs for exams like IIT. He said that the state government is also bearing fee of students belonging to SCs and STs on taking admission in medical or degree colleges. They are being provided rent of house taken by them jointly for studies in cities and towns.

The Chief Minister said that youths belonging to SCs and STs should consider other alternatives of employment also. The state government has implemented Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana. Under the scheme, loan and subsidy are being provided to youth to set up self-employment.
