Hanuwantiya island getting ready for weekend celebrations by tourists

Bhopal. People who are fond of going out with family to celebrate weekends will not have to travel or wait long for it, since they are going to get this facility at Hanuwantiya lsland of Indira Sagar in Khandwa district. State Tourism Development Corporation is developing the island as an attractive tourist destination. It has 10 cottages for tourists. One cruise and 2 motorboats have been arranged. It is noteworthy that tourists have started arriving there.
The tourism corporation has constructed a boat club and restaurant at Hanuwantiya. A sum of Rs. 8 crore is being spent by the corporation to develop tourist facilities. Plantation has been done to ensure greenery at the island. Water sports complex is also being set up.

It may be mentioned that Water Festival will be held at Hanuwantiya island in Indira Sagar from February 12 to 21, 2016. For this, tourism tent city comprising over 120 tents will be set up. It will become most favoured spot of lovers of adventure and water tourism. Water sports, kite flying, volleyball and other competitions will be held apart from Food & Craft Bazar.

In deference to Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s wish to promote water tourism in the state, Water Festival is being held on a grand scale to attract tourists from country and abroad. MP Tourism Development Corporation has started large scale preparations for the prestigious event. Secretary to CM and Commissioner Tourism Shri Hari Ranjan Rao is undertaking regular review of preparations for the Festival.
