Harda DEO suspended, former minister had taken grandson to the booth: FIR lodged for voting with him; Action taken against Bhopal MLA, ZP member
Harda’s District Education Officer (DEO) PM Singh has been suspended. She was the sector in-charge of polling booth 107 (Polytechnic College) of Harda district headquarters. During voting here on May 7 in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, former minister and BJP leader Kamal Patel had taken his minor grandson inside the polling booth.
An FIR has already been lodged against the former minister. After the photo-video surfaced, a case was registered against three people including the former minister on the report of Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Kumar Sanu Devadia.
Collector Aditya Singh had written a letter to the Commissioner of Narmadapuram division to take action against the Sector Officer (DEO). Sharmila Patil, presiding officer of polling booth 107, has already been suspended. Sharmila is a teacher in the government school of Karna.
Earlier, actions had also taken place in Bhopal. MLA Arif Masood had taken his minor son to the polling booth. District Panchayat member and BJP leader Vinay Mehar had got his minor son to cast his vote.
DM Singh was given the responsibility of sector in-charge for voting in the Lok Sabha elections.
An FIR has been registered against Bhopal District Panchayat member Vinay Mehar, who got his minor son to cast his vote. Bhopal Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh had suspended the booth’s presiding officer Sandeep Saini, his assistants CR Batham, Manoj Kumar Maurya and Madan Gopal Patel. Line has been attached to head constable Santosh posted at the booth.
FIR has also been filed against Congress MLA
A case has also been registered against Congress MLA from Bhopal Central Arif Masood under Section 188. Bhopal Collector also suspended the presiding officer. On May 7, MLA Masood had reached Booth 72 in the North Assembly to cast his vote with his family. His minor son was also with him.
It was the son who shared the video of the polling booth on social media. In this he is seen going inside the booth with his father. In this matter, President of United Sangharsh Morcha Shamsul Hasan had complained to the Election Commission. Suspicion was also expressed about getting the son to vote.
Congress has also cornered Minister Govind Rajput for getting photography done inside the polling booth. Congress leader KK Mishra had tweeted, ‘When any voter is prohibited from carrying a mobile phone inside the polling stations, then how did this photo of state minister Govind Singh Rajput appear outside?’
