Health and accident insurance schemes to be implemented for regional journalists: CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced to implement health and accident insurance schemes for regional journalism. The Chief Minister announced to double the amount of Rs. 51 thousand for regional journalism awards from current year itself. Remaining amount will be deposited in bank accounts of all awardee journalists.
Addressing Regional Journalism Awards function organised by Public Relations Department at Samanvaya Bhavan here today, Shri Chouhan said that process would be started to allocate land for Press Clubs at district headquarters. This will facilitate regional journalists in their work. Shri Chouhan said that a roadmap has been chalked out to construct an international level Press Club at Bhopal.
The Chief Minister also announced that excellence awards will be given for electronic media and photo journalism from next year.
Praising regional journalists who discharge their duties facing difficulties and adverse conditions, the Chief Minister said that the state government has taken initiative to honour excellence.
The Chief Minister said that good work should be accorded social recognition and praise. Journalists discharge their duty towards society. Therefore, it is the responsibility of society to felicitate them. He said that Regional Journalism Awards will be given every year regularly. Shri Chouhan said that it is a difficult task to disseminate credible and factual news from villages and towns. Giving news of about good social works being done in society is in itself a social service. Regional journalists do the work of awakening and alerting system. He said that government has always welcomed healthy criticism and strived for immediate corrective steps.
Family members and relatives of journalists in whose names awards have been instituted were also present at the function. The Chief Minister also felicitated them as well as members of jury.
In the welcome address, Public Relations Minister Shri Shukla congratulated awardee journalists. He said that journalism has done important work of lifting standards of life by making democracy a boon. He said that Regional Journalism Awards function will be held every year. The Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has shrugged off tag of a sick state during last decade. Media has played important role in this.
Jury member Shri Mahesh Shrivastava said that Shri Chouhan is a Chief Minister who gives respect to journalists. The Chief Minister also felicitated other jury members including Shri Madan Mohan Joshi, Shri Jai Krishna Gaur, Shri Jairam Shukla and Shri Sharad Dwivedi. Large number journalists from various regions, distinguished citizens and eminent media persons were present on the occasion.
Commissioner Public Relations Shri S.K. Mishra proposed a vote of thanks.
The Chief Minister gave away regional awards instituted in the names of Sarvshri Sharad Joshi, Rahul Barpute, Ratanlal Joshi, Jeevan Lal Verma Vidrohi, Kanhaiyalal Vaidya, Banarsi Das Chaturvedi and Master Baldev Prasad.
Shri Sharad Joshi Regional Journalism Awards were conferred to Shri Satish Alia, Shri Govind Badone, Sushri Rani Sharma, Shri Prabhu Pateria, Shri Pradeep S. Chouhan, Shri Rajesh Sharma and Shri Harish Diwekar.
Rahul Barpute Regional Journalism Awards were conferred to Sushri Rumani Ghosh, Shri Prabhakar Keralkar, Shri Dinesh Solanki, Shri Prem Vijay Patil, Shri Kirti Rana, Shri Dinesh Bamniya and Shri Navneet Shukla and Ratan Lal Joshi Regional Journalism Awards to Dr. Ram Vidrohi, Shri Pramod Bhargava, Shri Suresh Dandotiya, Shri Lokendra Parashar, Shri Rajdev Pandey, Shri Nirmal Sahu and Shri Ravindra Jharkhariya.
Jeevanlal Verma Vidrohi Regional Journalism Awards were conferred to Dr. Kishan Kachhwah, Shri Manish Gupta, Shri Mahesh Chandak, Shri Laxmi Narayan Awadhiya, Shri Sanjay Jain, Shri Sudhir Upadhyay and Shri Prem Shankar Tiwari and Kanhaiyyalal Vaidya Regional Journalism Awards to Shri Kailash Sanoliya, Shri Sunil Jain, Shri Rajesh Manav, Shri Ashok Jhaloya, Shri Nirukt Bhargava, Shri Lalit Jwel and Shri Satish Gaur. Banarsi Das Chaturvedi Regional Journalism Awards were conferred to Shri Umashankar Tiwari, Shri Ajay Singh, Shri Shaligram Sharma, Shri Brijesh Pathak, Shri Rajesh Dwivedi Shri Ramakant Dwivedi and Shri Sudama Sharad.
Master Baldev Prasad Regional Journalism Awards were conferred to Shri Bhola Ram Bhartiya, Shri Ravindra Vyas, Shri Sudesh Tiwari, Shri Abhishek Yadav, Shri Suresh Sharma, Shri Narayan Singh Thakur and Shri Pankaj Soni.
