Hindutva groups not allowing Kashmiri students to get admissions in MP
JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Storm is brewing in Jammu and Kashmir over saffron groups’ alleged campaign to keep Kashmiri students out of the colleges and other educational institutions in Bhopal.
According to reports pressure from Hindutva groups colleges and universities are making it difficult for Kashmir students to get admission in different institutions.
Furious over this campaign, the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah called it disgraceful.
Omar said on twitter, “Disgraceful: Hindutva groups campaign to keep Kashmiri students out of Madhya Pradesh”.
J&K minister of state for home Nasir Aslam Wani said they will take up the issue with the Madhya Pradesh government once they get the full report. “We have told the DGP to give us the report. Once we will have details we will take up the issue with the government,” he said.
The issue has triggered a debate on the social networking sites with Omar leading the campaign. “Totally agree shame on MP authorities. Students can do without venom of twisted religious minds of ABVP,” Yashvin tweeted in response to Omar’s post.
Atul Kanji, another netizen advised Omar to file suit against this move. “Should files suit against groups stopping Kashmiri students in Madhya Pradesh? And they say Kashmir is a part of India,” e said.
Mayank Patidar assured Omar that he would definitely try to curb this practice. “Will definitely try to curb this movement. I am having lot of Kashmiri friends at BU,” he said.
