Hoist National Flag on buildings of all government colleges in state Photographs of great persons will also be installed in colleges

Bhopal. Higher Education, Public Service Management and Public Grievances Redressal Minister Shri Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya has directed to hoist National Flag on the buildings of all government colleges in the state. Shri Pawaiya directed that along with photographs the President and the Prime Minister, photographs of great persons including youth icon Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Baba Saheb Ambedkar should also be installed in colleges. Reviewing departmental activities, Shri Pawaiya said that there is no place for such words as education mafia in temples of education now.

HE Minster said that atmosphere of quality education and discipline should be created on college premises. He said that transparency and punctuality should be maintained strictly right from Secretariat upto colleges. Shri Pawaiya said that academic calendar should be implemented in colleges and in new session attendance of teachers and teaching standards should be maintained. He directed to immediate put up a list of colleges which have not adhered to time-bound researches and norms of qualification within prescribed time-limit. Minister of State Shri Sanjay Pathak and Principal Secretary Shri Ashish Upadhyay also attended the meeting.

Hoping for implementation of revised syllabus from next year, Shri Pawaiya said that soon a syllabus committee would be constituted. Suggestions should be invited from scholars to include chapters and lessons in the syllabus regarding national commitment, moral values and job-oriented courses. He directed to present a proposal to make Yoga a regular activity in colleges and put it up in the meeting of university-related committee.

The Minister directed that Smart Phones should be distributed in August to students taking admission in graduation course after passing exams in first division. He sought a detailed report on the demand of arrears of professors saying that the issue should be resolved soon by holding discussions with the Central Government. Making clear his style of functioning to officers of Secretariat and Directorate, that the department discharges significant responsibility of grooming builders of India’s future. Therefore, it would have to be run with hard work, earnest and honesty with rapid pace. There should remain no possibility of raising fingers regarding cases of recognition and attachment. He directed to rationalize fee taken from students. Selection of guest faculties should be made at the earliest. He expressed concern over pendency of court cases.

The meeting was informed that last year, 48 thousand 79 girl students were benefited under Gaon Ki Beti Yojana, 4,015 under Pratibha Kiran, 3,113 under “Vikramditya Free Education”, 74 thousand 497 under conveyance facility for girl students and free books and stationery were distributed to 50 thousand 974 scheduled caste and 44 thousand 450 tribal students.
