Housewife dies of electrocution at Hanumanganj
Immersion rod type water heaters are especially dangerous around kids
Bhopal
A housewife died due to electrocution in the Hanumangarh area of the state capital on Thursday afternoon.
Sapna Chaurasia, 35, was killed by the electric shock she suffered while using an immersion rod to heat water at her home in the vicinity of Dawa Bazar. She was alone at the time of the accident.
Relatives learned of the mishap when they broke into the house after Sapna did not respond to repeated knocks at the door from her six-year-old daughter and her sister-in-law, who lives next door.
Sapna’s husband, Ritesh, works as a marketing executive in a private firm. The two had been married for eight years.
Hanumangarh police said the body had been handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
Immersion rod-type water heaters often prove deadly, as the uninsulated heating element exposes people to grave risks.
