The police officer was hit by a train

A police sub-inspector lost an arm when he was hit by an approaching train in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening. The police officer had been on the tracks to remove the bodies of two men who had fallen off a moving train.
The incident occurred near the Karaiya Bhadoli railway station in the district on Sunday evening, said officials.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajendra Mishra, the Bandakpur police post in-charge, had gone to the scene after receiving information about the bodies lying on the tracks. He was struck by the approaching train.
Mishra’s right arm was severed in the accident. Yawar Khan, a police driver who was with Mishra at the scene, was also injured.
Both Mishra and Khan have been referred to Jabalpur for further treatment.
