Jabalpur: Congress Corporator Attempts Self Immolation

Claiming that the Opposition was being muffled inside the house, Mahesh Rajput, a Congress corporator attempted to immolate himself inside Jabalpur Municipal Corporation’ premises on Tuesday, say media reports citing the city police.

The house was in session when Rajput, stormed out of the house and claimed that the opposition – Congress, was not being allowed to raise issues of public interest by the majority BJP, He then doused himself with kerosene.

Others present at the venue overpowered Rajput while he was trying to set himself afire.

The Omti police have registered a case.
