Journalism is a platform of mass awareness: Governor
Bhopal: Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has said that journalism is a platform of mass awareness. The responsibility of saving and maintaining harmony in the country lies with young journalists. He said that the prime responsibility of media is to work towards public welfare. Governor Shri Yadav was laying foundation stone of Central Press Club-affiliated institution Rajdhani Patrakar Grih Nirman Sahkari Sanstha here today.
It is noteworthy that Central Press Club has constituted Rajdhani Patrakar Grih Nirman Sahkari Sanstha for resolving journalists’ housing problem. The State Government has allotted 11.68 acre land at village Neori behind Sanjeev Nagar on Gandhi Nagar Bypass Airport Road for construction of houses of 208 working journalists. Earlier, Governor Shri Yadav laid foundation stone as per traditional rites and rituals.
Governor Shri Yadav said that journalists are performing important duty to give direction to society. Therefore, the government should also extend every possible assistance to resolve their problems. The Governor urged journalists to very facts and truth before publication of news since this practice results into credibility.
Housing and Environment Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya said that the government will take initiative to get infrastructural development works done for construction of journalists’ houses with a view to saving them from unnecessary financial burden. He urged journalist members of the housing society to maintain uniformity in building construction.
Earlier, society’s president and senior journalist of Dainik Nai Duniya Shri K.D. Sharma threw light on the housing society’s constitution and activities. Rashtriya Hindi Mail’s editor Shri Vijay Kumar Das delivered the welcome address and conducted function’s proceedings. Editor of Swadesh Shri Akshat Sharma proposed a vote of thanks. Commissioner Public Relations Shri Rakesh Shrivastava and a large number journalists were present on the occasion.
