Madhya Pradesh pioneer in public participation in Digital India week

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in public participation in Digital India week. Manipur stands second, Uttar Pradesh third and Chhattisgarh is fourth in this respect. This was underlined in the information displayed about quantum of public participation during the week on Digital India portal.

It is noteworthy that during Digital India Week, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan held direct dialogue with students of virtual class through video-conferencing. Special enthusiasm about it was witnessed among virtual class students of remote areas who asked many questions from Chief Minister Shri Chouhan.

The important programmes held during the week in the state included participation of girl students and women employees in the second phase of e-Shakti Abhiyan, workshop in the presence of State e-mail Service and start of training programme for youths’ skill development in electronics system design and manufacturing sector. Union Secretary Information Technology Shri R.S. Sharma participated in programmes at Indore and Barwah in Khargone district during the week.

Students of schools and colleges, government servants, people in large number participated in various programmes marking the week at state, division and district level. Various interesting and informative programmes for students were also held. It is noteworthy that main objective of Digital India Week is to take digital connectivity to newer heights, build digital infrastructure, online delivery of services as per demand and people’s digital empowerment.
