Madhya Pradesh Planning Commission will now be NITI Ayog de
Bhopal. The process of constituting a Rajya NITI Ayog on the lines of Kendriya NITI Ayog is in progress on the directions of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Once the NITI Ayog is formed, apart from its current work, it will also make policy recommendations for different departments. This information was given today at a meeting of the Department’s Advisory Committee presided over by Planning and Economic-Statistics Minister Dr. Gaurishankar Shejwar. Committee member MLA Sarvashri Satyaprakash Sakhvar, Manvendra Singh, Mahendra Hardia and K.P. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Deepak Khandekar and Commissioner Planning, Economic and Statistics Shri Rajendra Mishra were also present.
It was told that the GDP rate of 12.21 per cent has resulted in the attraction of investors towards the state. The state is one among states with the highest rate in the country. The state’s agriculture development rate is expected to go upto 25.68 per cent this year.
It was informed at the meeting that the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’-Seva Yatra is the first programme of Jan-Abhiyan Parishad that is being lauded all over the world. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has so far participated in the programme at 28 places. Well-known personalities, sadhus and general public are enthusiastically participating in the yatra. The yatra that began from Amarkantak on December 11, 2016 has completed 92 days. Jan-Samvad has been with nearly 15 lakh people during the yatra and over 15 lakh sankalp-patra have been collected so far.
