Mahatma Buddha gave message of peace to entire world: Governor
Bhopal: Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has said that we need to give a serious thought to teachings of Mahatma Buddha. Problems like terrorism and corruption can be eradicated from our country if Mahatma Buddha’s principles of Panchsheel are implemented properly. About 2,500 years ago, Siddharth Kumar Gautam had attained eternal truth, became Buddha and gave message of peace to entire world. Gautam Buddha has a special place as a great path finder and propounder of spirit of human welfare. Governor Shri Yadav stated this while inaugurating 58th Buddha Dhammachakra Pravartan Diwas of International Buddha Dhamma Sangharsh Parishad by Samrat Ashoka Buddha Vihar Buddha Dhammaguru Dhamma Gyan Sangh here today. Mahastidhiveer Pu Bhadant Dr. Rewat from Sri Lanka was specially present on the occasion. Governor Shri Yadav also honoured outstanding performers in the fields of art and social service by giving away certificates to them.
Governor Shri Yadav said that Emperor Ashoka had disseminated Buddha’s messages through Shilalekhs and pillars. It is matter of happiness that Ashok Chakra is printed on our National Flag. Shri Yadav said that Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi secured country’s independence through non-violent movement based on Gautam Buddha’s ideals of peace, non-violence and love.
Governor Shri Yadav said that after Emperor Ashoka, messages and teachings of Mahatma Buddha were propagated and disseminated by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar who became a follower of Buddhism. Shri Yadav said that Baba Saheb had thoroughly followed secular constitution of India. Apart from being a mass political leader and revivalist of Buddhism, Baba Saheb Ambedkar was also one of the framers of Indian Constitution. The Governor said that Bhimrao Ambedkar laid emphasis on freedom, equality and nationalism.
Bhadant Dr. Shaivlink Rewat said that ideals and teachings of Mahatma Buddha are still relevant even after 2500 years. He said that once India was known as spiritual guru of the world. India can attain the status of world leader again by following ideals of Mahatma Buddha. Dr. Rewat said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar had given message of human equality. RKDF’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashish Dongre delivered the welcome address. Chief Organiser Bhadant Harshbodhi threw light on event’s objectives. Bhadant Dr. Rewat presented a book on Mahatma Buddha to Governor Shri Yadav.
