Make Beti Bachao Abhiyan a mass movement : Rajendra Shukla

Bhopal: Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that society must be made aware and motivated with a view to ensuring improving gender index and putting a complete check on disparity between males and females. He said that public awareness is being created throughout the state to end female foeticide. There is need to make Beti Bachao Abhiyan a mass movement in the present context. Shri Shukla was addressing a workshop on Beti Bachao Abhiyan at Rewa on Friday.
Shri Shukla said that atmosphere to save daughters has been created in Madhya Pradesh due to sustain efforts of the State Government. He said that making the campaign successful is a major challenge before society. Besides large-scale arrangements to check female foeticide, misuse of sonography will also have to be completely ended. Shri Shukla said that Gram Sabhas will have to be organised time and again to motivate villagers to eradicate female foeticide.
MLA Shri Laxman Tiwari said that social misgivings and evils are responsible for female foeticide. MLA Smt. Panna Bai also expressed his views.
