Maoist Threatens to Blow up Malaiya
An unnamed called, who claimed to be a Maoist rebel, has threatened to blow up Minister for Housing and Environment Jayant Malaiya on Diwali, said police on Thursday.
According to report, the call was made on Tuesday on minister’s phone and attended by his personal assistant JP Namdev. The caller insisted on speaking to the minister.
“Later he said that he would blow up the minister; when I asked him about his identity, he said he was a Naxalite,” Namdev told police.
Following a written complaint from the minister’s personal staff, a complaint has been registered from criminal intimidation against the unidentified caller.
“Preliminary investigations have revealed that the cell phone used to make the threatening call is registered in the name of a Damoh based person whose location at the time of calling has been traced to Sagar district,” a police official said.
