MARKFED provides godown facility to farmers
Bhopal: Apart from subsidy, the State Cooperative Marketing Federation (MARKFED) is also providing storage facility to farmers. The federation is now managing 426 godowns in 243 place in the state. MARKFED earned Rs. 12 crore 88 lakh from these godowns till the end of January 2012.
The Marketing Federation provides 30 percent exemption to general category farmers and 40 percent to SC, ST farmers on storing their produce in godowns. Besides, special concession is also given to farmers for advance reservation of godowns and advance payment. On the receipt issued by MARKFED, farmers are also availing loans from nationalised and cooperative banks.
