Met Office to Install New Radar in Bhopal

Bhopal:  Attempting accuracy, the State Met Department will soon install an imported radar in the state capital, say media reports citing weather officials.

The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences has provided requisite approvals for the installation of a Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) atop a proposed ten-storey building to come up at the Met department office in Arera hills.

The project is estimated to cost around Rs 11 crore.

The DWR provides for more accurate weather forecasts as it records the slightest of change in weather conditions in a range of 400 kilometers.
