Micro irrigation projects to be implemented online now
Bhopal. The state government has taken initiative for online implementation of micro irrigation projects to make them transparent and farmer-friendly. In the first online phase, MP Agro has selected registered farmers through electronic draw of lots. Horticulture Department is to distribute sprinklers and drip appliances for about 36 thousand hectares in the state. For this, over 2 lakh farmers have been registered. In the first phase, 19 thousand farmers were selected through electronic lottery today.
Principal Secretary Horticulture Shri Praveer Krishna, MD of MP Agro Shri S.K. Mishra, Director Horticulture Shri M.S. Dhakad, representatives of manufacturing companies and farmers were present on the occasion. MP Agro has made online arrangements with the cooperation of NIC.
Subsidised drip systems and sprinklers are given to farmers under micro irrigation scheme. All farmers wish to avail benefit of subsidy since these appliances are much in demand. Selection of farmers under the scheme has been computerised with the scheme going online. Farmers selected in the first phase include all sections including women, SC/ST, general category, small and marginal farmers. District-wise lists of selected farmers can be seen on the website of Horticulture Department and Agro www.mpstateagro.nic.in. Lists can also been seen in all offices of the department.
