Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the world record fencing programme—Shaurya Veera—organised by Nari Shakti in Indore on Saturday.
Watching more than 5,000 women and girls fencing with enthusiasm and passion, Yadav also held swords in both hands and demonstrated the symbolic Shastra Kala, handling two swords at the same time.
The programme was organised by the Anmol Muskaan Welfare Society Indore with the aim of teaching self-defence techniques to women.
This was the first time in the country that five thousand women participated in collective swordsmanship at one time and in one place.
CM Yadav also announced a donation of five lakh rupees to the society for hosting such an event. He described the programme as unique and an example of women’s empowerment.
Chief Minister Yadav said that Indore, a city with “no end and no limit,” is remarkable for whatever it does, doing everything amazingly.
