MP ahead of all in country to provide relief to farmers on natural calamity

Bhopal: Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh has said that Madhya Pradesh government is ahead of all to provide relief to farmers. Under leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan during last 10 years, the state government has amended Revenue Book of Circulars

6-4 from time to time. Shri Singh said that through these amendments, outstanding increase of amount has been made in all provisions for relief in natural calamities in the state. He said that in several provisions, 2-fold to 10-fold increase has been made. Many new crops have been brought under ambit of relief.

Shri Singh said that for the first time in the state, crops of arhar and isabgol have been recognized as all-season crops. Financial powers of SDOs/Tahasildars have been enhanced for relief except loss of life/limb. Relief of Rs. 16 thousand per hectare or 400 per Paari is given on loss of 25 percent to 50 percent suffered by Pan Barejas. For over 50 percent loss, compensation worth Rs. 25 thousand per hectare or Rs. 625 per Paari will be given.

Minister Shri Rampal Singh informed that norms for giving relief have been enhanced remarkably following amendments in Revenue Book of Circulars 6-4. Relief of 3500 per hectare will be given for 25 percent to 50 percent loss to crops of vegetables, melons and water melons, Rs. 6000 per hectare on irrigated crops, Rs. 6000 on all-season crops if damaged during 6 or less months. If crops suffer over 50 percent loss, relief of Rs. 5500 per hectare will be given, Rs. 10 thousand for irrigated crops and Rs. 9500 per hectare on all-season crops if damaged during 6 or less months. If perennial crops suffer over 50 percent loss after 6 or more period after sowing, Rs. 10 thousand per hectare will given as relief for crops of vegetables, Rs. 13 thousand per hectare for vegetable crops grown through plantation, Rs. 4000 per hectare for sericulture, ericulture, mulberry and tussar crops and Rs. 5000 per hectare or moong crops.

According to Revenue Minister, Rs. 3000 per hectare relief will be given on 25 percent 50 percent loss crops of farmers 2 hectare or more rain-fed land and Rs. 4500 per hectare on irrigated land, Rs. 4500 per hectare on loss/damage to all-season sown/planted crops in less than 6 months and Rs. 8000 per hectare on loss/damage to all-season sown/planted crops during more than 6 months and Rs. 8000 for crops of vegetables.

The Minister informed that Rs. 4000 per hectare relief will be given on 25 percent 50 percent loss crops of farmers 2 hectare or more rain-fed land and Rs. 7500 per hectare on irrigated land, Rs. 9500 per hectare on loss/damage to all-season sown/planted crops in less than 6 months and Rs. 10000 per hectare on loss/damage to all-season crops during more than 6 months.

On loss of 25 percent to 50 percent, Rs. 300 per tree relief will be given if crops borne by trees of mango, orange, lemon, papaya, grapes, pomegranate etc. and Rs. 6 thousand per hectare on crops of orange, lemon, banana, grapes, pomegranate etc and Rs. 18 thousand per hectare or Rs. 450 per Paari on loss to Pan Bareja etc. On loss of over 50 percent on loss to crops, Rs. 400 per tree will be given trees of mango, orange, lemon, papaya, grapes, pomegranate etc, Rs. 8500 per hectare or Rs. 450 per Paari on crops of orange, lemon, banana, grapes, pomegranate etc. Rs. 28 thousand per hectare or Rs. 700 per hectare will be given if Pan Barejas suffer over 50 percent damage.

Following amendment in RBC 6-4, relief is also being given to affected families on loss of one big milch animal or 4 small milch animals and one big draught animal or 2 small draught animals.

Similarly, affected marginal and small farmers are being given relief of Rs. 25 thousand per hectare in case their land is eroded due to landslide or rivers changing their course. In place of Rs. 35000, compensation of Rs. 70 thousand is being given on damage of house and Rs. 20 thousand on kuchcha house. Relief of Rs. 5000 is being given instead of Rs. 2000 on loss of clothes, utensils and food grains.
