MPPR website get 72 lakhs hits in six months

Bhopal : After the website of Public Relations Department, its district news portal has also become a hit. In the first six months, 71 lakh 96 thousand 294 hits were made on the department’s district news portal www.dprmp.org by the visitors.

From February 1 to July 31, as many as one lakh 21 thousand 257 persons visited this government news portal, the first of its kind in the country. On the portal, on an average 34 thousand 268 hits are being made daily. Similarly, over 500 persons also browse the portal daily. Not only this, three lakh 47 thousand 870 files have also been downloaded from the portal during the last six months.

It is noteworthy that Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma had launched district news portal on January 31, 2012. On the portal news released by all the District Public Relations Offices in the state are posted. Since the portal is based on Unicode font, newspapers are facilitated in downloading news in Chanakya, Kratidev and other Hindi fonts. Necessary information about districts’ history, geography, culture and tourism is also available on the portal. Besides this portal, the department is also operating two other websites including www.mpinfo.org and www.mpnewsarch.org where news released by the department and clippings of news carried in newspapers are available. To facilitate people, both the websites have been interlinked.
