Bhopal: Greeting people on Republic Day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged them to contribute their best for taking Madhya Pradesh further ahead. People and government should join hands to build Madhya Pradesh of their dreams. He said that all public representatives including Chief Minister are servants of people and not rulers. Instead of showing off power, work should be done with dedication to improve people’s lives.
Chouhan was addressing people after unfurling national flag on the occasion of Republic Day at Agar-Malwa today. He said that under leadership of the Prime Minister, India is once again heading towards becoming world guru. Country as well as state are transforming. Once considered a sick state, Madhya Pradesh is number one state in the country in growth rate. Congratulating farmers, he said that the state has achieved miraculous 24.99 percent agriculture growth rate. This is fastest and highest both in the country and world. Madhya Pradesh had surpassed Haryana in wheat production last year. It has left Punjab behind this year. State has received Krishi Karman Award consecutively for third time. He said that this is a milestone, not the destination. State has to progress further. Quick steps have to be taken towards boosting milk production, horticulture and food processing. Irrigation capacity in the state is being increased by 3 lakh hectare every year. Industries have also to be promoted side by side agriculture. Chouhan said that he has launched Make in Madhya Pradesh campaign on the lines of Prime Minister’s Make in India campaign and Digital Madhya Pradesh on the lines of Digital India. Various Panchayats have been held in the state under the initiative for direct dialogue with common people. Mahila Panchayat will be held at Bhopal on March 8 next followed by Kisan Panchayat soon.
Chouhan said that youths are being motivated to set up self-employment to rid Madhya Pradesh of darkness of unemployment. Government is making arrangements for technical knowledge, marketing and share capital. He said that Madhya Pradesh has established itself as Best

investment promotion policy. Under Pradhanmantri Jan-Dhan Yojana and other schemes, over one crore bank accounts have been opened, which are being linked with Aadhar Number. Domestic consumers are getting 24X7 hour power supply and farmers for 10 hours. This year, availability of power has been increased b y 1590 MW. Madhya Pradesh is the only state to have established 306 MW solar power capacity in one year. For infrastructure development, 2800 km long new roads were constructed to connect cities and towns last year. In all, 4248 km long roads and 44 major bridges and over-bridges have been constructed. Presently, projects worth Rs. 33 thousand crore are underway under PPP mode. Toilets have been constructed in 37 lakh households under Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan. Chouhan urged state’s people to cooperate in Swachchh Madhya Pradesh campaign and take pledge to do away with open-area defecation and have clean toilet in every household. Congratulating the police for good law & order situation, he said that the state has been rid of problems like dacoity, terrorism and naxalism.
The Chief Minister said that he is taking initiative on Prime Minister’s call to create Global Talent Pool through Friends of Madhya Pradesh Portal. DPRs for country’s first light metro at Bhopal and Indore are being chalked out. So far, over 2 lakh houses have been constructed under Mukhyamantri Grameen Aawas Yojana and 5 lakh houses for the poor are under construction. In 5 years, 15 lakh houses will be constructed. Health Guarantee Scheme of its own kind has been implemented in the state. In villages, 49 thousand Gram Aryogya Kendras have been opened. Sanction has been granted to create Madhya Pradesh Inter-city Transport Authority to strengthen public transport in the state. Targeted public distribution system in the state has been expanded. Through it, 42 lakh added families are being provided food grains at Re. one per kg and subsidized sugar and salt. Attaching top priority to good governance, information technology is being applied in delivery of public services. CM Helpline has been launched for the convenience and relief of common people. System of self-certification and self-declaration has been implemented in the state. Attaching top priority to Simhastha, Rs. 1750 crore works have been undertaken so far. Scheme has been chalked out to observe this as Green Simhastha in view of environmental conservation. He hoped that till next Republic Day, the state will move further ahead in the race of progress and development.

Bhopal: Governor Ram Naresh Yadav unfurled National Flag and took salute of parade on 66th Republic Day function at local Lal Parade Ground today. Addressing the people, he said that it is a matter of pride for all that Madhya Pradesh is constantly marching ahead on the path of good governance, public welfare and infrastructure development.
Governor Yadav said that India had become a republic by adopting Constitution on January 26, 1950. Presently, we are the largest democracy in the world. Its credit goes to framers of our Constitution and the institutions which strengthened democratic traditions. He said that state’s agriculture growth rate has risen to about 25 percent this year as a result of hard work of farmers and efforts of state government. The state has received Government of India’s “Krishi Karman” Award consecutively for last 3 years.
Governor Yadav expressed happiness that Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in organic farming. It has 40 percent share in total organic farm production in the country. Farmers are being supplied power for 10 hours for agriculture. Under permanent agriculture pump scheme, over 74 thousand power connections have been given. During current FINANCIAL year, the state government has provided Rs. 4300 crore to power distribution companies for tariff subsidy and free electricity supply.
Apart from agriculture, attention is also being paid to allied sectors. State’s milk production growth rate of 8.6 percent is the highest in the country. Giving fillip to horticulture sector, weather-based crop insurance scheme has been implemented. Fish breeding is being undertaken in 98 percent of available water area in the state. Credit cards have been provided to farmers to avail loans at zero percent interest rate. This year, accident insurance cover has been provided to 1.75 lakh fishermen.
Governor Yadav said that under Vision-2018, a target has been set to increase irrigation potential from government sources to 40 lakh hectares. At present, 30 lakh hectare is under irrigation. The government has taken steps to increase industries-TRADE. At Global Investors Summit at Indore in October last, captains of industry have expressed faith in government’s policies and potential in the state.
Governor Yadav said that Yuva Udyami Yojna has been implemented by amalgamating previous schemes to help youth set up self-employment. So far, loans worth over Rs. 20 crore have been distributed. A Rs.100 crore Venture Capital Fund has been created to assist youths in setting up innovation-based enterprises. Better atmosphere is being made available in the state for launching trade and industries. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Make in India campaign, Make in Madhya Pradesh campaign has been launched in the state. Labour laws have been amended in accordance with need of the hour. Nodal officers have been appointed to provide facilities to investors easily.
The Governor said that best efforts are being made to avail benefits of every policy initiative of Government of India. Madhya Pradesh is the first state to frame defence production investment promotion policy.
Governor Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has become self-reliant in power sector. Last year, availability of power has risen by 1590 MW in the state. This year, 600 MW second unit of Shri Singaji thermal power plant has started generation with full capacity. Now, all domestic consumers in the state are getting 24X7 power supply. Special attention is also being paid to alternative sources of energy. Last year, 306 MW solar energy capacity was established. Asia’s largest solar energy plant has been set up in Neemuch. Last year, 14 thousand 300 km long new roads were built and 4248 km renovated. Besides, 44 major bridges and over-bridges were also constructed. Under Panch Paremeshwar Yojana, 9000 cement-concrete roads have been constructed in villages.
Governor Yadav said that people are extending maximum cooperation in the campaign to increase sanitation in the state. So far, individual toilets have been constructed in over 37 lakh rural households. Three thousand villages have been freed from open-area defecation. A campaign has been launched with the cooperation of NGOs to construct toilet in 3 lakh households this year.
Governor Yadav said that separate toilets for girls and boys are being constructed in schools. So far, over 10 thousand toilets have been constructed. Equal attention is being paid to rural as well as urban development. Under Mukhyamantri Shahari Adhosanrachna Karyakram alone, Rs. 1400 crore works of roads, parks, drains, footpaths, streetlights etc. are underway. DPR is being chalked out for country’s first light metro project in Bhopal and Indore. Process for feasibility study for Jabalpur and Gwalior has been started. About 26 thousand houses for the urban poor are under different stages of construction.
The Governor said that sanction has been granted for constitution of Inter-city Transport Authority to strengthen public transport. The Authority will develop transport infrastructure etc. Construction of hostels, scholarships and other facilities are being constantly being ensured for students of SC, ST and Other Backward Class Students.
Governor Yadav said that the state government is paying maximum attention to social sector as well. Health Guarantee Scheme has been implemented this year. About 4 lakh people are benefiting from Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme. This year, neonatal mortality rate has been reduced remarkably by 3 points and infant mortality rate by 4 points. This is the highest decline in these rates in the country. The state government has paid adequate attention to education. Under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, 984 primary, 50 middle and 100 high schools have been upgraded. Free cycles have been provided to over 7 lakh students of class IX and VI. Over Rs. 26 crore has been given to over 10 thousand students having secured over 85 percent marks in class XII exam to purchase computers.
The Governor said that concrete steps have been taken towards women’s empowerment and security in the state. Over 1200 new aganwadi buildings have been sanctioned. Prompt action is being taken in cases of crime against women. The state government has made innovative efforts for good governance. People have been given facility of self-certification of their documents. Now, there will be no need of stamp papers or affidavits notarised for income and domicile certificates and obtaining various public services. CM Helpline has been started for quick disposal of people’s problems. Through it, the people are not only getting their problems solved, but are also obtaining various information. Over 6 lakh complaints have been redressed to people’s satisfaction.
