New industrial town to be set up in MP

Bhopal: Top industrialists from the country have expressed enthusiasm regarding investment in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has invited industrialists to invest in proposed new industrial town in Madhya Pradesh, development of Chambal ravines and other industrial sectors.

Heads of Tata, Reliance, Shaporji Pallonji, Welspun, Mahindra, Force, Godrej and other industrial houses called on Chief Minister Shri Chouhan in Mumbai today. Inviting the industrialists to Global Investors’ Summit to be held at Indore in October, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is the ideal destination for investment. He said that the new industrial town will be developed between Indore and Bhopal. Shri Chouhan said that establishment of industries in Chambal ravines will also result in all-round development of the area. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Industries Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa.

Chairman of Tata Group Shri Cyrus Mistry evinced interest in production of solar power pumps and crops of pulses. He informed about expansion plan of Tata International in Dewas. Reliance Group’s Managing Director Shri Satish Seth informed about establishment of a new unit at company’s Maihar plant to increase cement production by 5 lakh million tonnes. He informed that the company has set a target to produce 12 million tonnes of coal this year which will be increased to 16 million tonnes next year. He also evinced interest in alternative energy, metro rail and defence sectors. Shaporji Pallonji Group’s Managing Director Shri Shapor Mistry showed interest in investment possibilities in urban housing projects, Khan river diversion, water supply projects, hi-tech city and alternative energy. Chairman of IPCA Shri Premchand Godha informed about company’s projects existing in the state for the last 30 years and held discussions on new extension projects. DB Power Limited’s Managing Director Shri Girish Agrawal and LUPIN’s Director Shri K.R. Gupta also held discussions with the Chief Minister regarding investment.

Principal Secretary to CM Shri S.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary Commerce and Industry Shri Mohammad Sulaiman, TRIFAC’s Managing Director Shri Arun Kumar Bhatt and other officers were also present on the occasion.
