November 25 to be weekly off for factory workers

Bhopal: The Labour Commissioner has sent a circular to factory managers to provide voting facility to their workers for Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha elections by declaring weekly off in their establishments on November 25. This will be done to ensure that their workers can exercise their franchise without any hindrance.

The factories which function 24X7 will give 2-hour lay-off to their workers in both first and second shifts like earlier. The first shift will be closed 2 hours earlier than schedule and the second one will commence 2 hours after the schedule.
The factories which work continuously will also permit their workers to vote turn-by-turn without harming their salaries.
Shops and commercial establishments have been asked to declare weekly holiday on November 25 instead of their regular weekly off under Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishments Acts for allowing their employees to cast their ballots turn-by-turn.
