Now, Government to give compensation on drowning also
Bhopal: Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma has said that the State Government has amended RBC 6-4 for providing ex-gratia compensation in case of drowning in any water body. Now, compensation will also be given in cases of deaths due to boat mishaps. In such case Rs. one lakh compensation each will given to those perishing in boat mishap to the next of kin of deceased. The amended provisions have been implemented with retrospective effects from February 3, 2013. Earlier, only Rs. 50 thousand assistance each was given on death due to boat accident.
A provision has been made in Madhya Pradesh Revenue Book of Circulars (RBC) to providing immediate ex-gratia to people affected by natural calamities. The State Government has been increasing quantum of assistance from time to time by amending the rules.
